Pregnancy Shouldn’t Mean Putting Your Life on Pause

You’re growing a tiny human — but that doesn’t mean you have to suffer through back pain, pelvic discomfort, or give up the activities you love. These common pregnancy challenges can make every day feel harder than it should.

You Shouldn't Have to Live with Pelvic Floor Dysfunction

Lower Back & Pelvic Pain

The weight of your growing baby shifts your center of gravity, straining your lower back, hips, and pelvis. Simple tasks like standing, walking, or bending become exhausting and painful.

You Shouldn't Have to Live with Pelvic Floor Dysfunction

Joint Discomfort & Instability

Pregnancy hormones loosen your ligaments to prepare for birth, but they can also leave your joints feeling unstable, achy, and prone to injury — especially in your hips, knees, and SI joints.

 Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about prenatal physical therapy? We’ve got answers.

When should I start prenatal physical therapy?

You can start prenatal PT at any point during pregnancy — there’s no “too early” or “too late.” Many women begin in the first trimester to address early discomfort like round ligament pain or hip instability. Others start in the second or third trimester to prepare for labor and manage increasing pain. If you’re experiencing any pregnancy-related discomfort or want to optimize your body for birth, now is the perfect time to start.

Do I need a referral to see you?

No! Massachusetts is a direct access state, which means you don’t need a physician’s referral to start prenatal physical therapy. You can book directly with us and begin care right away.

Does insurance cover prenatal physical therapy?

We’re an out-of-network provider, but we provide detailed superbills that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Many of our clients receive partial or full reimbursement depending on their plan. We also accept HSA and FSA cards for payment. Our fee-for-service model allows us to spend quality one-on-one time with you without insurance restrictions.
